Free up space in your google drive!

Recently I got the following message from google:

Since I got free 100 GB for one of my phones I didn't track my drive capacity. But the D-day has come. How do I free all this data.

So, here is what I did:

  1. Go to Google Drive

  2. Delete all my backed up PCs. Empty trash.

  3. Press the storage indicator on your drive. It would bring you over to your largest files. I found few movies there and other files (mainly videos). Delete all those.

  4. Go to google photos: Make sure that high quality is checked. Then, press recover storage (this will convert to what is currently free storage that does not consume your drive's space. This process takes a while). Empty trash.

4. Go to Drive > backups

5. Delete all the backups (WhatsApp is the worst space consumer). Empty trash.

6. Open file explorer on you phone.

7. Make sure there is no important media on your WhatsApp (documents or images not backed up on your google photos)

8. Delete all the media folder (this is the greatest storage enemy)

9. Make a fresh backup of your WhatsApp (now MBs and not GBs)

10. make sure your phone is backed up on google

11. Gmail cleanup: delete mailing list messages. Look for big attachments using: has:attachment larger:20mb in the search box. Go down to 10MB until it is all clean.

If you managed to do all this this is the result I got:

I hope this is helpful. Share it if you liked it.
